ADAM LAMBERT: IT’S NOT EASY BEING GREEN. OR FINDING SOCKS.

In a show of solidarity with all the Florida flood victims this week, Adam brought out these pants to the I Heart Radio Awards:

award1

I kid, I kid. Apparently flood pants are in style with the menfolk. As long as they don’t start french rolling them like we did in the eighth grade, I can deal.

DID I MENTION HE LOOKS AMAZING?!?!?!

And he also brought along his face which was a good choice for a red carpet accessory:

award2

CAN A SISTA GET A MOTHER FUCKING SLOW CLAP GIF UP IN HERE?!?!

Thank you. Cause damn boy looks flawless! The hair color, the facial scruff, the suit color. He looks even younger which is impossible since he looked super young to begin with so I am guessing he’s gonna start getting carded again at the bars. Or at least when he rents a car.

Here’s Adam on the E! red carpet (Thanks to @Vegas1024 who got this up super fast)

He talks about when we can expect his new album. Yep you guessed it.

 Here’s him introducing Bastille

Adam Goes Green

It doesn’t mean he has gone all organic, although he might have-Adam has dyed his hair green. He tweeted out a photo last night saying “Green Hair Don’t Care”.

So what has prompted this sudden change in his coif’s color? Let’s see:

Could it be a tribute to his favorite vegetable KALE?

A possible reference to new music, the green light in a traffic signal=intense forward motion?

A nod to the green grass of summer- a hint to a summer single hmmmmm?

Or maybe just his love of grass lol!

Maybe it’s an homage to the 4 leaf clover, as he’s feeling lucky just having been in Stockholm recording his album

Could it also be an ode to green tea and the new Lipton tea ad that is airing using Lay Me Down as the jingle? (Green tea because he’s healthy like that)

Which may also tie into his excitement about Shady being used in a Kia Soul ad in Korea, a very green electric vehicle.

Of course these ads along with his upcoming tour with Queen are helping to bring him some good old fashioned green-nothing wrong with celebrating that!

Finally, maybe it’s a tribute to Kermit and the rainbow connection and all of us just living in peace & equality under one big happy rainbow.

LAMBERT VS LEVINE: A REFERENCE MANUAL FOR THE CLUELESS PART 2. ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN.

So quite a while back I made a handy dandy little post about how to tell Adam Lambert and Adam Levine apart, seeing as how tons of random people can’t seem to keep them straight. And while that post was quite informative, and there really shouldn’t be ANY more confusion, it seems that people just can’t get it through their heads who is who.

So here it is. One last time. The ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN. This should leave you in NO DOUBT about which is which.

PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE! I AM NOT GONNA DO THIS AGAIN!

Levine: Daring hairstyle: Adam Lambert circa 2010

Lambert: Daring hairstyle. Gump. circa 1994.

Levine: Knitwear….bashful.

Lambert: Knitwear……face palm-y.

Levine: Brother. Gay. Adorable.

Lambert: Brother. Straight. Negative.

Levine: Sassy head snap.

Lambert: Cranium twerkin’.

Levine: Along for the ride.

Lambert: In the drivers seat baby.

Levine: I just can’t handle it. I ain’t ready.

Lambert:  It shakes all over like a jelly fish. I kinda like it.

Levine: Plays the drums.

Lambert: Plays A drum.

Levine: Gently caresses the microphone stand.

Lambert: Gets the microphone stand off.

Levine: Sorry about that bro.

Lambert: Oh. Em. Gee.

Levine: Sexiest man alive.

Lambert: Demands a recount

AND THIS TIME YA’LL BETTER KEEP THIS SHIT STRAIGHT! YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!

CHUNKEY’S GLEECAP: CELEBRATE STARCHILD’S AMBIGUOUS GOODBYE!

Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert came into our lives as a whirling dervish of rhinestones and sequins, wrapped up in a killer voice and topped off with a thick head of hair that doesn’t even need hair gel.

A glitter rock vampire with nothing but a song in his heart, he blew in from Jersey, land of malls, and shook up the Glee kids lives. But sadly it is his time to go. For now at least.  This week marked the last Elliott episode for the foreseeable future. Let’s take a look at his scenes this week before we celebrate ALL that is Elliott Gilbert. Farewell Elliott. We hardly knew ye. Here’s hoping you return in the series finale as 30 something year old Kurt begs his adopted Burundian children for permission to bang you.

Now tonight’s episode. The whole show seems to have shifted to NYC now with Sam and Blaine and Artie all moving there, and I will admit that it’s already a better show without those terrible new kids. However I am just gonna go over Starchild’s two scenes. In his first scene Elliott and Kurt are at their favorite guitar store and Kurt is complaining about how Blaine is everywhere now that he’s moved to NYC. He’s at home, he’s at school, he wakes up in the middle of the night to see Blaine staring creepily into his face while muttering something about a “skin suit”. Overall he’s losing it man. What is Elliott’s advice for him? Well he does mention that at first he thought they two were way too young to get married, but now he’s basically team Klaine because Klaine is the black hole that sucks everything good and real into it’s depths.

This is a pic of Elliott being sucked into the Klaine black hole. RUUUN!

And then they sing “Rockstar” by A Great Big World and 100 random people just show up to partay because NYC is the music store capital of the world.

Then the last scene we have of Elliott (but will it be though? I feel they left the door open for him since there was no mention of him leaving) is of Blaine instigating a confrontation that pretty much looks like this

As Blaine barges into his apartment, HIS NOSTRILS FURIOUS WITH RAGE and hurling accusations that Elliott is trying to steal Kurt.

WOAH WOAH SETTLE DOWN BLAINE. I MEAN YOU DID CHEAT ON KURT AND HAVE A CRUSH ON SAM SO YOU REALLY SHOULDN’T BE FLIPPING OUT THAT KURT HAS A FRIEND.

Woah. Blaine totes goes all gangsta on his ass.

Thankfully Elliott is the only adult in this show who acts rationally and calmly

And basically he has to tell Blaine to put on his grown man panties and suck it up—he doesn’t think of Kurt like that. And then the whole audience cries NOOOOO WHYYYYYYYYYY because…Starkurt tho. *sniff* And then they make up and jam.

And then….that’s it. They sing glitter rock vampire into the night and Elliott gives him hair styling tips I suppose.

So as we wait to see if he pops up sometime in season 6….jump after the cut to celebrate all of season 5 Elliott realness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A WALK DOWN ADAM FANDOM MEMORY LANE AND A BITTERSWEET GOODBYE

I’ve sort of been taking a little hiatus from posting since nothing really is going on that’s earth shattering, and to rest up before the onslaught of era 3, but when I saw this week that TWoP was being closed down by evil evil NBC  I had to make a post. You see TWoP–or Television Without Pity–is a website that had wonderful snarky recaps and forums for tons of TV shows and is where I first dipped my toe into Adam fandom back when he was on American Idol. It was the first site where I connected with other fans and chatted and flailed and God knows what.

Since the site will soon be reduced to nothing but a memory (the forums will be open till the end of May and then that’s it )and in honor of my fond memories there I decided to make a sort of “Best Of” post.

These are some of the best, worst, lulziest, flailiest, trolliest, nastiest, and wtf-iest comments from Adam’s thread during his Idol run.

And for the record, the original Adam thread has over 4 million views. The 2nd thread over 2 million.

Let’s take a stroll down memory lane. Time travel back with me to March 2009 through May 2009…

A BRIEF ROUND OF UP OF THINGSES

So what’s been going on lately? Let’s take a brief look at the most pressing issues.

LMD is being used in a Dutch Lipton Iced tea commercial. LOL

Well hey if it’s not gonna be a single at least it can help sell some delicious refreshing beverages eh?

Nile tweeted (or DM failed basically) this interesting nugget:

niletweet3OIC. Could this be the lyrics or title to one of the other Avicii collabs? Or something totally different for Adam’s own album? Is he gonna ask us to put our hands in the air and wave em like we just don’t care?!?! Good job Nile on the DM fail. Please fail some more. I’ll wait.

What else what else…hmmmm…..oh yeah….

QUEEN AND ADAM SOLD OUT MADISON FUCKING SQUARE GARDEN!!!!!!!

QUEENTWEET2

(THAT IS THE MSG MARQUEE. HOLD ME. HOLD MEEEE.)

And are on their way to selling out all the other dates as well!!!

queentweet

And last but certainly not least…..we have gotten confirmation he is working with SWEDISH HIT MAKING GOD MAX MARTIN AND HIS LITTLE SWEDISH SONG MAKING MINIONS.

“[Martin] just brought in a load of people that he trusts and that make good music, and just seeing what happens,” U.K. singer-songwriter Joe Janiak, who recently co-wrote Ellie Goulding’s “Divergent” soundtrack single “Beating Heart,” tells Billboard. Janiak, a London native, was called to come out to Sweden early last week and work with a collection of song experts that was organized by Martin. “He’s got a company which really focuses on getting the best young writers and getting them all together in one place, so that they can have a hotbed of creativity and spin ideas off of each other,” Janiak adds of Martin.

There is no timetable for Lambert’s next record, but Janiak says that Martin and co. have been able to conjure some special moments in the studio. “I think there are going to be big things on this record, because the focus is on really strong songwriting and performance and stuff like that,” says Janiak. “They’re really locking in on all of [Lambert’s] strong points and just making him even better. I think that’s definitely going to be an exciting one.”

BRB….

PROCESSING THIS INFORMATION….

CONCLUSION…

Era 3 bitches. Get into it. It’s gonna be amazing.

CHUNKEYS SUPER DUPER LATE GLEE RECAP: BERTACUDA!!!!!!!!

SORRY SO LATE. QUEENBERT HAPPENED. YOU UNDERSTAND. SO IMMA MAKE THIS QUICK. FIRST THE PART NO ONE CARES ABOUT:

Lima. Okay. All I remember is what I briefly saw in between scrolling through my twitter feed, and this included inappropriate teacher on teacher sex for procreation reasons (aka the ONLY reason one has sex amirite Republicans?!), Tina was annoying, Blaine wore a bow tie, Sam needed to get a haircut, the writers pretended they totally didn’t forget about Nurse Penny (ahahahahahahahaha) and Becky tried to take a game of Twister to new and completely creepy and exploitative levels. Kudos writers!

But thankfully NYC was POPPIN OFF THE CHIGGITY CHIGGITY CHAAAAAIN !!! With most of the episode there, and with Adam/Elliott in FOUR SONGS it was a total treat for us Adam fans slogging through the show for his scenes. And scenes he did have!!! A bunch of them! He said a lot of words! He emoted!! He wore a hat! Melvin even blessed us with his presence!!

THIS GIF DISPLAYS WHAT MY FEELS DID WHILE WATCHING SAID EPISODE:

And a whole lot of this:

SO LET’S DO THE SUPER OH SHIT THIS IS LATE I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT IT RECAP.

Rachel moved out of her OWN APARTMENT HER OWN DADS PAY FOR and let the people she is fighting with stay there. Cause that makes so much sense.

LIES!!!!

Elliott agrees to let her move in and basically he’s totally fucked.

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL!

THIS IS YOUR LIFE NOW ELLIOTT. THIS IS YOUR LIFE. THESE ARE YOUR CHOICES.

And Rachel is so thankful she bestows upon Elliott an honorary title.

ELLIOTT DOES NOT APPROVE OF YOUR FUCKERY.

They sing Barracuda by Heart anyways because that’s what roomies do.

DID I MENTION HE LOOKED LIKE A REJECT FROM THE NEWSIES THE WHOLE TIME? A HOT REJECT? CAUSE HE DID. I WOULD LET HIM SELL ME PAPERS ANYTIME. OH YEAH BABY. HERE TAKE MY ~NICKEL.

Later on Elliott stops by to get Rachel’s stuff from her old apartment because that’s what he does now. He is a gopher. First it was her dry cleaning and tea….

And now…

RUUUUUUN ELLIOTT RUUUUUUUN!!!!

Santana is not pleased.

She thought she got Elliott in the divorce.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWW SNAP!!!

I WILL TAKE A HAMBURGER WITH A SIDE OF AWWWWWW SNAP!!!

So later on at the diner Rachel and Santana and Elliott sing “Gloria” by Laura Branigan and the girls drag him all around like a used dishrag.

CLIMB IT GURL. LIKE A TREEEEE!

The girls also use this performance to try and make Elliott pick who is the better singer.

EXCUSE ME? WHO IS THE BETTER SINGER?

THE ANSWER IS ELLIOTT. IT’S ALWAYS ELLIOTT.

But Elliott has had enough of this drama. He tells Rachel he isn’t her “best gay” and tells off Santana as well. And then he runs over a poor helpless squirrel in the road who was just minding it’s own business.

Yes?

Oh here go hell come.

THAT’S RIGHT BITCHES! THE ONLY DRAMA STARCHILD WANTS IN HIS LIFE IS THE DRAMA FROM AN EXPERT SMOKEY EYE OR A BEDAZZLED COLLAR YOU HEATHENS!!

After that happens the only logical thing to do is this:

MY BODY IS READY.

DANI HAS NO LAST NAME. DANI NEEDS NO LAST NAME.

They sing “The Happening” by the Supremes and have a very Michael Buble moment.

I’VE GOT YOUUUU UNDER MY SKIN! IVE GOT YOU…DEEP IN THE HEART OF MEEEE! SHOOBY DOO WOP BOB!

Later on we learn that Elliott really loves curry. So that happened.

BUT REALLY ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW IS AT THE END OF THE EPISODE EVERYONE SINGS “HOLD ON” BY WILSON PHILLIPS AND MY 9 YEAR OLD SELF CRIES TEARS OF JOY AND ALL THAT’S IMPORTANT IS HIS FACE:

LOOK AT THAT SHEER EMOTION!! SOMEDAY SOMEBODY’S GONNA MAKE ELLIOT WANNA TURN AROUND AND SAY GOODBYE! UNTIL THEN BABY ARE YOU GONNA LET THEM HOLD YOU DOWN AND MAKE YOU CRY? DONTCHA KNOW, DONTCHA KNOW, THINGS CAN CHANGE? THINGS’LL GO YOUR WAY IF YOU HOOOOOLD ON ELLIOTT FOR ONE MORE DAAAAY!!

~FIN~

ADAM AND QUEEN: USA USA USA USA!!!!

Today we learned the worst kept secret in all of fandom. Fortunately for the rest of the general public it was like this:

HOLD ONTO YER BRITCHES…

QUEEN AND ADAM ARE GOING TO TAKE THE US BY STORM! GET READY TO SPEND ALL YOUR MONIES!!

New York, NY (March 6, 2014) – Queen + Adam Lambert will reign over a highly anticipated North American summer tour starting at the United Center in Chicago on Thursday, June 19. Brian May, Roger Taylor + Adam Lambert will come together for the first time in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Dallas and more. The 19-date tour wraps Sunday, July 20 in Washington, DC at the Merriweather Post Pavilion, their only outdoor summer concert. The tour is presented by Live Nation.

Tickets will be on sale beginning Friday, March 14 through the Live Nation mobile app and at Livenation.com. American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Monday, March 10 at 10am local time in the USA and Tuesday March 11th at 10am local time in Canada.

Queen + Adam Lambert received glowing reviews for their performance together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last September, triggering a conversation between Adam, Roger and  Brian to take the show on the road.  Rolling Stone said, “Lambert astounded the audience on songs like ‘We Will Rock You’ and the closing ‘We Are The Champions’ and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’.  It was the most anticipated act of the night.” Billboard claimed, “…Queen effectively stole the show, with timeless songs that music fans of all genres can sing along to” and the Hollywood Reporter exclaimed, “Adam Lambert, Queen bring down the iHeart house.  With the perfect mix of rock attitude mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal and impressive vocal gymnastics, [Lambert] took the band’s music to new heights.”

The threesome first shared the stage during American Idol in May 2009 for a performance of “We Are The Champions”. They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of “The Show Must Go On”, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with Queen across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland.  They also performed three sold-out gigs at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

“Let’s ROCK those beautiful arenas JUST ONE MORE TIME!” said Brian May. “I’m completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon,” added Lambert. “The thought of sharing the stage for a full set in North America is so beautifully surreal. I’m honored to be able to pay my respects to Freddie’s memory; he’s a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. I know this tour will be a huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band, I feel like magic will be on display.”

In a career spanning over 40 years Queen has amassed a staggering list of sales, awards, and hall of fame inductions that is second to none.  Record sales in the hundreds of millions of units, including an unprecedented string of number one albums and top-charting singles that continue to put Queen in the top ten of all-time iTunes sales, seven Ivor Novello Awards, an MTV Global Icon Award, two songs enshrined in the Grammy Hall of Fame –  “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions” – which also remain the most played songs at sports events and arenas around the world, and, as if to qualify all of hyperbole, just last month Queen received the accolade of becoming the first artist ever to sell over six million copies of an album in the UK – beating out even the Beatles’ Sgt Pepper by close to a million copies – with their Greatest Hits album, which also achieved the record of over 1,422 weeks on the British album chart.  The statistics show a staggering one in three British households now own a copy of the iconic act’s original Greatest Hits collection.  Even with the tragic loss of their uniquely talented singer Freddie Mercury, Queen remain one of the most revered bands in rock and pop history, able to claim one of the most enduring song catalogues of all time. Just think: “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Another One Bites the Dust”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “Killer Queen”, “Fat Bottomed Girls”, “Bicycle Race”, songs that form the backdrop to the lives of generations of fans across all ages. With their sterling song craft, virtuoso musicality,  and colossal spectacle of their live performances, Queen – Brian May, Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor and John Deacon – captured hearts and conquered charts like no other band in history, a legacy that continues to live through the ongoing work and concert performances by May and Taylor. Their musical We Will Rock You, co-created with writer Ben Elton, is approaching its 12th year on stage in London’s West End and is currently touring North America.

Adam Lambert’s stunning performances on the eighth season of American Idol are still widely regarded as some of the most riveting moments in the show’s history. His debut album For Your Entertainment earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. His second album, Trespassing, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The subsequent tour took Lambert from Australia to South Africa, throughout Asia and Eastern Europe and culminated in a sold-out arena show in Helsinki, Finland. In 2013, Lambert appeared as a guest star on the hit TV series, GLEE. He is currently writing and recording for his third album, which will be released this year.

More pics HERE and HERE and THIS article talks about how Adam discovered Queen via Wayne’s World. Which I am sure a lot of people in my age range (aka his age range) did the same thing too. I know I did!

And we got THIS ROLLING STONE story which was awesome but this ROLLING STONE Q&A IS EVERYTHING IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!

Just five years ago, Adam Lambert auditioned for American Idol by singing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “We Will Rock You.” In his wildest dreams, he couldn’t have imagined he was kickstarting a series of events that would make him the newest Queen frontman. The trio played together on the show and teamed up again for a small series of overseas gigs last year. Now, they’re launching a full American tour this summer. Rolling Stone sat down with Brian May, Roger Taylor and Lambert to talk about the the tour, future plans and their relationship with former Queen bassist John Deacon.

Brian May Talks New Queen Recordings, Freddie Mercury Biopic

Adam, how did Freddie Mercury inspire you as a young singer?
Adam Lambert: Freddie had so much power and intensity to his voice. I was always a loud singer, so I identified with the way he attacked things. He had such an amazing attack. On the flip side, he could give you something so lyrical and smooth. He had so many different colors, and I’m very inspired by that.

Tell me about seeing Adam sing for the first time. What struck you about him as a singer and performer?
Brian May: It was both at the same time. I always think that singing is a very physical thing. I’m now famous for attacking The Voice in Britain. I think it’s a stupid idea to put someone behind a screen or turn your back to them. A singer is full-on in every respect. It’s a physical thing. It’s the sound, the look, the animal magnetism. You don’t question it. When you see Adam, you see a performer. He’s performing from his heart. He’s interpreting the song. I never had any question that he’s the real thing. It’s a rare thing to find someone with that much talent and the instrument to put it forward.

Roger, how did you first see Adam? Was it on Youtube?
Roger Taylor: Yeah. A musician friend of mine in America was like, “You’ve gotta check out this guy on Idol.” So we Googled you. His voice was phenomenal. I was just like, “Wow.”

Adam: Thanks guys!

Taylor: I said you had this sort of slight Elvis look going on. I just thought, “Wow, what a voice! Those octaves!” That was my first impression. It was just like anybody else hearing about someone with an extraordinary talent.

At the press conference you said he was a “diva in the best possible way.” Can you elaborate on that?
Taylor: To me, diva means an extraordinary, outrageously theatrical, brilliant performer.

May: [Sarcastically] But he is really difficult.

Lambert: You ain’t seen nothing yet! You should see my rider.

Adam, have you taken a crash course in the Queen catalog. Do you know every song by this point?
Lambert: When we did our run overseas in Europe, we had about ten days to rehearse. I’m very familiar with a big handful of the hits. That’s what I grew up hearing. There were definitely some songs I wasn’t familiar with. It was a bit of pressure to know I knew them and to learn them. That pressure and that intensity of the process gives it a lot of power. I like pressure.

There’s a lot of younger fans that never got the chance to see Queen live. This won’t be nostalgia for them, but a new experience.
May: We were very conscious of that in making this decision. This is the closest that you’ll ever get to see Queen as it was in our golden days, but it’s not a reproduction. It’s not an imitation. We’re here live and real and we have a great singer. They’ll be a lot of newness about this. I think that’s very exciting. It’ll be loud and dangerous and all the things that people used to look for in us.

Lambert: I think the thing that’s really special is that this is the real deal. This is live. In today’s music world, you go to a concert and you’re getting a lot of playbacks. There’s click tracks. It is what it is. I’m not hating on it. But this is the real deal. This is pure. We’re not playing to a click. We’re not playing to tracks. This is all live instruments. I’m singing all the vocals with these guys on vocals. It’s purely organic. I think in today’s day and age, it’s very exciting for an audience to see something that has that much heart.

I know you’ve played a bunch of gigs with them overseas, but it still must be surreal to be standing onstage with these guys.
Lambert: It’s beautiful. It is surreal. I feel honored. I feel inspired by it. It’s also one of those things where you’re going to sink or swim, especially when we were onstage for for the first time in the Ukraine in front of 300,000 people. I was like, “Well, it’s now or never. You gotta run with it.” It’s similar to be in camera with Idol. You go for it.

Are you thinking much about plans behind this tour? Maybe doing more overseas gigs?
May: Not specifically, no. There is a possible… We might take this a little bit further. There’s some good proposals coming our way, but for now we’re just concentrating on this.

Are you open to the idea of cutting new material with Adam?
May: I’m open to anything.

Taylor: It would be nice. We’ll see what happens on tour. I think we’re going to make sure we enjoy it first.

Lambert: I think the thing that’s special about this is that it is a limited thing. It’s this special engagement. It’s not like, “Now we’re to the grind.” It’s a once-in-a-lifetime tour.

Adam, you’re still going to focus on your solo career, right? This is just a side project for now?
Lambert: This is a side-by-side project. As a creative artist, I do a lot of different things. If I’m not busy, I get bored and restless. Earlier this year, I did a stint on Glee. I was in Sweden this last month working on solo material. I’m actually going back to Sweden on Saturday to continue working on that. I like doing a lot of different things. The beauty of that is that something like this is completely inspiring. I’m learning a lot from these two gentlemen. I’m learning from the audience. I think that will help inform and make my material stronger.

SORRY BUT I AM SO OVERCOME HERE. I AM POSITIVELY VERLEMPT HOLD ME. THIS IS GONNA BE AMAZING. AND ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE?
