Well I don’t know if anyone noticed really but I took a wee sabbatical from blogging for a bit just to rest my creative juices before era 3 and to just enjoy the QAL tour without having to worry about posting picture after picture and video after video. That’s the kind of shit that makes stanning feel like work and no thank you!! I needed a break!

I….I am gonna take that as a yes.

So many things have happened since I last blogged. Adam has ditched the blonde hair color. He grew more melvin, then he got rid of most of it, and then grew it back again. We found out he has a little bit of Tina Turner in him..

And that he’s the kind of guy who spits not swallows…

That he likes to sass his elders..

But more importantly that Couchbert is the new Floorbert…

But most importantly we found out that whether he was playing a sold out Forum in LA or a sold out Madison Square Garden in NYC he

Now a little more about Madison Square Garden. I was privileged enough to witness it in person and it was AMAZING. I had never truly understood why that venue was the Holy Grail of venues for a musical artist to play, and maybe I still don’t fully understand, but I have to say that from the minute I walked into the arena and down the stairs to my seat I was overcome with a massive indescribable feeling. You know when a place just has a presence? A history? That’s what I felt.

Or maybe what I felt was the Irish ale and two shots of Jameson I had at the Irish pub minutes earlier??

That’s my hand right there. Aren’t my chubby little fingers sexay? And that’s my phone…that’s where the MAGIC happens people!!!

Did I mention my seats were amazing?

I managed to end up in Glambert-ville with berts to the right and to the left and like half of my feed a stone throws away from me. It was so nice to put some faces to screen names and everyone I met was super nice. I am SO GLAD no one asked me for my glambert number like someone did to Loha in Las Vegas…LOL. I really don’t know how I would have handled that. Laughed in their face? Tell them it was 666 with crazy eyes and see how they reacted? Not sure.

I wish I could fully encapsulate with words how amazing the concert was but all I can think of to say is that listening to Youtube videos or a stream does NOT do justice to his voice, Brian’s guitar, Roger’s drumming, and any of the other elements that fused together to form such a perfect live experience. It is something that, while good on video, is UNREAL live, in the moment and surrounded by the energy from thousands of fans. There is just no comparison. I was fortunate enough to see one of the UK Hammersmith shows and while that was great, this show far surpassed that for me. The energy, the set, the production value, BRIAN’S NEVER ENDING GUITAR SOLO, the lady in front of me wearing Christmas garland as a scarf (I am on to you lady), the straight guy next to me dancing the standard dorky white man dance the whole show, the beach balls passing through the crowd. Amazing.

It was so good that even the younger guy in front of me, who looked like he had maybe come with his parents and was kinda blase about the whole experience so far, whipped out his phone and started filming when Adam started slaying those notes. It gave me chills. SRSLY. And let’s not forget all of MSG (well I am gonna ignore the small section directly opposite me on the other side of the arena. I am going to assume their arms were simply tired from batting around all those beach balls.) doing the Radio Gaga clap like it should be done. It was beautiful.

Oh and I also got a pretty cool shirt.

Overall it was a SUPER AMAZING experience and it will be something I will fap over for all of eternity.

yayyyyyyyyyyy I missed this site so much.I went to san jose and it really was so amazing even if it is a little less amazing than what it is becoming now.
The music totally reverberates into your body and the music is so so good.
Best concert experience ever.http://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gifhttp://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wacko.gifhttp://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/HappyRun.gifhttp://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/HappyRun.gifand of course Adam is Adamhttp://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/hippie.gif

MSG was #5 of my 6 total Queenbert adventures and I cannot imagine that any concert ever, in the history of all mankind, will ever come close to what I felt that night. Not only were the emotions high going into it, my own as well as those of Adam, Brian and Roger, but it was MADISON SQUARE GARDEN – and it was SOLD OUT!! And my seat was on the floor near the stage (moved even closer to the stage due to a snafu that eliminated my ticketed seat due to how much space that huge catwalk would take up. Thankfully I was on the side of the floor where security was very lax and all the people seemed totally cool with us filling the aisles between the sections and meandering up to the edge of the catwalk when the performances warranted it. That allowed me to be in the position that my originally assigned seat would have been – directly to the left side of the peener stage – and therefore perfectly aligned to be baptized into the Church of Glambert by a Killer Queen fountain. I cannot begin to express the euphoria that produced!!! Oh, and to soothe my post-Queenbert blues which set in on Sunday following my final Queenbert concert, last night not only did Dr. Brian May himself follow me on Twitter http://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif, he also used one of my Mohegan Sun photos of him in a Tweet and on Brian’s Soap Box to thank everyone for his birthday. Euphoria continues!
Oops, my reply may have become it’s own blog LOL!

OMG so thrilled this site is up and running again. Have missed it terribly. Thanks for the great recap http://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gifof the MSG show.

  6. Lain

What the hell is Glambert #s?
anyway it sounds like a once in a life time opportunity to see Queen and Adam in the MSG stage, and now that I’ve read that it’s no much better live than live streams and youtube videos,
I can’t wait for my own show which is in next month.
and I think I might neglect my phone and camera and just enjoy the show.
must practice the Radio GAGA clap and Oh Oh NA NA NA ↘oh

  7. Carolina

Flew from Calif. just to see QAL @ MSG. Worth every $ to see Adam & Queen live. Also went to San Jose, but knew MSG would be special, and it was! Adam is sooo good!!

    OMG Welcome back Chunkey!http://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif
Your blogs were sorely missed but thank Jebus we were still able to see some of your hilarious randomness on Twitter! I’m glad that you took well-deserved time to just relax and soak up all the awesomesauce that has been this tour so far. And I am beyond thrilled that you’re so happy with your own concert experience! We went to the 2 in Vegas and LOVED THEM!http://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif I DO think your chubby little fingers are sexay! (of course I MAY have had a few shots of Jameson myselfhttp://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_whistle3.gif Abd NO WAY you could be #666 anyway, that’s ME! http://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_bye.gif LOL! Anyhoo, glad to see you back at it! You were missed! http://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cry.gifhttp://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_rose.gif

Since I went off on my own little tangent above, I just want to tell you Chunkey that you write the BEST blogs out there – great humor and info too. I’m just sad I didn’t get to meet you in NY – I tried, when you posted the row and seat number you were in, alas that was without a SECTION number so I had no idea where to find you!! If that Jameson was downed at Stout we were probably there at the same time and didn’t even know it.

  10. Charbar

First of all let me say WELCOME BACK!!!!
Next – I soooo envious of all Glamberts that have been able to see QAL live but so many thanks to all the wonderful videos!!!!😘
Your words are amezing as ever!!!!! Our babyboy is doing so well. I just never expected he could shine any brighter then he already had. This Queen catalog is such a vocal challenge and he really shown his talent. He is also learning so much you can see it.
    I’ve missed you guys/gals
    Let the new era begin!!!!!

  11. LuvYaAL

Yay \o/ The Home Planet lives! I lurk more than I post, but I’ve been a steady visitor since it’s 1st iteration under Candy.

I can imagine how cool MSG must have been (haven’t seen vids yet, but I’ll take your word for it), because I was at the other stupendously special concert that Brian May tweeted about as the FINEST Queen concert since 1986 – Dallas. http://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif

I went with my rocker brothers that were long-time Queen fans, but really didn’t know much about Adam. I wouldn’t say they are ready for Glambert numbers (errr…never went down that path myself!), but they actually got Adam’s campiness and were astounded with his voice. I heard them telling others how much they enjoyed the concert and what a great job Adam did singing the Queen catalog. I was beaming with pride http://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/HappyRun.gif (Why? I have nothing to do with his awesomeness LOL!)

    Thanks for posting again Chunkey!

  12. irina

I do hope i get to hear them in a concert !

  13. Kelly-Anne

Welcome back. Glad you took some time to just be a fan. I was at the Edmonton, Alberta concert, and while it may not have been MSG, he blew the lid off Rexall Place. Who Wants To Live Forever brought me to tears. I stood there, tears streaming down my face, watching our reigning Rock God sing his heart out next to two icons of music, and KNEW, beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will NEVER see anything that perfect in a concert again. That moment was sheer unadulterated perfection. Dead.

    1. sagitariusmoon6

Hi Kelly!!! I was there too!!! I took my overly judgmental 17 years old daughter……She was listening with wide eyes after the first two minuteshttp://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yes.gifAdam really won her over with sassy ”Killer Queen,, Her highlight of the concert was Brian’s guitar solo.I loved ”Love of my life” and the ”new ,, song too. She promised,if Adam would come back to Edmonton she would be there with or without mehttp://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif one more fan!! I really wish,he would stop by with his next concert tour!!! I know, Edmonton is at the end of the world comparing LA or New York.but he and Queen was greatly received!!!http://www.thehomeplanet.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_heart.gif

      1. Kelly-Anne

You know, sag6, I KNEW you would be. In fact, as we were going in, I thought, “I wonder which one she is?”. So even though we didn’t meet up, our voices were there together, mixed in with all those people screaming for our Adam, as he played with one of the greatest bands of all time. Best concert experience of my life, and I’m 54, lol! I can’t wait until the next time I get a chance to see him. I’m not sure where or when, but I’ll be there! And if he ever comes to Edmonton again, maybe we can meet up and scream for him together!

  14. purplgirl

I was there! hey I see myself clapping in the radio gg vid lol I was over by the dead zone lol oh well, was fun meeting so many ppl.
